Professor Vinayak Deshpande
Vinayak Deshpande, a gold medalist , is the Vice chancellor (Acting) of RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur. He is Member of the Regional Imbalance Committee –Maharshtra state, appointed by the planning Board of Maharashtra, popularly known as the Kelkar Committee. He is also Member, Regional Direct Tax Advisory Committee. Dr Deshpande has previously held various positions of academic administration. He was the Pro Vice Chancellor; Director, Department of Business Management and Asst. Director, Academic Staff College, RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur.
He has written reference books on Macroeconomic Analysis, Indian Economy and Financial Institutions and Markets. He was associated with IGIDR for a project on Suicides of Farmers and submitted a report on Resource Mapping to the Maharashtra Economic Development Corporation. Fifteen candidates have have been awarded Ph.D under his supervision. Dr Deshpande was selected under the Rotary International Exchange Programme to Netherlands. He co-ordinated an International Conference at Sydney, Australia He has completed a course on Intermediate Macro-economics from London School of Economics.
